Real Estate

Real Estate is an American indie rock band hailing from Ridgewood, New Jersey, formed in 2009. The band is known for their dreamy, melodic soundscapes and introspective lyrics, capturing the essence of suburban nostalgia with a blend of jangly guitars and a laid-back vibe. The founding members include singer and guitarist Martin Courtney, guitarist Matt Mondanile (who was replaced by Julian Lynch in 2016), bassist Alex Bleeker, and drummer Etienne Duguay (replaced by Jackson Pollis and later by Sammi Niss). Their self-titled debut album, released in 2009, quickly garnered attention and set a solid foundation for their sound.

Real Estate's discography has steadily grown more sophisticated with each release. Albums like "Days" (2011) and "Atlas" (2014) have earned critical acclaim for their evocative lyrics and sonic coherence. Their fifth studio album, "The Main Thing" (2020), displayed a commitment to pushing their musical boundaries while maintaining the heartfelt storytelling that fans have come to love. The band's ability to create relatable emotions through their music has made them a standard-bearer in modern indie rock. Notable tracks such as "Paper Cup" and "Talking Backwards" showcase their tight musicianship and the wistful, airy threads that run through their work, appealing to a widespread audience that finds solace and reflection in their mellow tunes.
