Los Tucos de Cajamarca is a renowned Peruvian huayno folk duo that has been a significant part of the country's musical landscape. The group was founded by Napoleón Arribasplata Campos, who was born on January 27, 1944, in Yerba Santa, Cajamarca. Initially, the duo consisted of Napoleón and Mario Morales León. They gained popularity after moving to Lima and signing with Industrias Eléctricas y Musicales El Virrey S.A. in 1972. Their early success included hits like "Tu casa nueva," which achieved record sales and elevated their fame. In 1973, Mario Morales León was replaced by Julio Plascencia Namoc, who has remained with the group ever since. Over the years, Los Tucos de Cajamarca have recorded around 300 compositions and have been instrumental in promoting traditional Cajamarca music across Peru.
