WitchUrn is a solo black metal project based in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, formed in 2015. Behind the project is David Chávez, who performs under the moniker Llaves, meaning "keys" in Spanish. WitchUrn's music is characterized by a blend of black metal with influences from other heavy music genres, showcasing a dynamic and wide-open approach in both theme and sound. Notable releases include the full-length album **The Debt** (2020) and the single **"La Vergüenza"** (2019), which features lyrics in Spanish and addresses themes of social justice, particularly focusing on immigration policies. Chávez identifies WitchUrn as "Chicano-made black metal," emphasizing his Mexican-American identity and challenging conservative elements within the black metal genre.
