CJ Fly, born Chaine Downer Jr. on July 6, 1993, is a rapper hailing from Brooklyn, New York. He first gained attention as a founding member of the hip-hop collective Pro Era, alongside Joey Bada$$. CJ's journey in music began with a love for poetry in his childhood, which evolved into a passion for rap by the seventh grade.
Growing up in Bedford-Stuyvesant, CJ was influenced by a rich tapestry of musical styles, thanks to his Bajan mother and Jamaican father.
