Allan Yn Y Fan

Allan Yn Y Fan is a vibrant Welsh folk group that first formed in southeast Wales in 1996. Their name means "on the spot" in English, reflecting their lively, authentic approach to traditional music. Over the years, they've grown to include members from both north and south Wales as well as other parts of the UK, currently performing as a six-piece band. Known for their rich blend of instruments including guitar, accordion, flute, whistles, fiddles, mandolin, and bodhran, Allan Yn Y Fan delivers a captivating mix of Welsh and English songs that have earned them a solid reputation across the UK and Western Europe.

With a career spanning more than two decades, they've toured extensively in countries like Wales, England, Ireland, France, Germany, and beyond. Their music is deeply rooted in Celtic tradition but refreshed with modern arrangements and energetic live performances, making them one of Wales’ foremost traditional bands. Their 2016 album *NEWiD* marked a significant evolution for the group, introducing new members and new sounds while maintaining the essence of their folk roots. The band continues to enchant audiences with their twmpath (Welsh ceilidh) style music, skillfully combining traditional tunes and self-composed pieces that showcase their connection to Welsh culture and heritage.
