Robin Fountain

Robin Fountain is a renowned conductor and Emeritus Professor of Conducting at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music. He has led orchestras in numerous countries, including the Singapore Symphony, Louisiana Philharmonic, and several philharmonics in Poland and Russia. Fountain has also conducted the Tomsk Philharmonic on a tour of China and has recorded with various labels, including a recent collaboration on Michael Kurek's Symphony No. 2 with the European Recording Orchestra. His tenure includes significant roles such as Music Director of the Southwest Michigan Symphony and the Williamsport Symphony in Pennsylvania. Fountain's educational background includes studies at Oxford University, The Royal College of Music in London, and Carnegie Mellon University.

Under his direction, the Vanderbilt University Orchestra was invited to perform at notable events and embarked on extended tours of China. Fountain has been recognized with awards for his teaching excellence, including the Madison-Sarratt Award and the Blair School of Music’s Faculty Excellence Award. His final concert at Blair featured Britten's *War Requiem*, showcasing his impactful career in music education and performance.
