Steven Stark
Steven Stark is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and educator known for blending rock, pop, and chamber music influences. Based in Oklahoma City, he co-founded the art-pop band The Empty Suits while studying music composition, later performing with groups like Paper Airplane, The Fellowship Students, and The Starlight Mints. As a session musician, he’s recorded guitar and cello tracks for artists including Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne, while his solo work spans film scores, orchestral compositions, and indie-rock releases like his recent tracks "Are You Still Mine?" and "Standing on a Sound." Stark also teaches and collaborates internationally, recently working with young musicians in Saudi Arabia, Kurdistan, and Lebanon through cultural exchange programs.
His career reflects a DIY ethos, from leading middle school ensembles through original ragtime-inspired pieces to scoring films featured at festivals like deadCENTER.
