SAWA, born Sawa Kouchi on November 6, 1983, is a Japanese singer-songwriter, music producer, and DJ who has made waves in the electro-pop scene. Starting her career in 2003 as a member of the tap dance group Jack Knife, SAWA later pivoted to focus on her solo singing career. In 2008, she released her first mini-album, marking the beginning of her journey as a solo artist. SAWA's unique blend of club music influences and her distinctive voice quickly caught the attention of music creators, leading to her signing with Sony Music Entertainment Japan in 2009.

Throughout her career, SAWA has showcased her versatility by not only performing but also composing commercial songs and jingles for various companies. She's worked with brands like LINE, Alinamin Pharmaceuticals, and SMBC Consumer Finance. Her talent extends to music production as well, having produced for other artists such as Especia and Nozomi Sasaki.
