Gotan Project

Gotan Project is a pioneering musical group formed in Paris in 1999, known for their innovative fusion of traditional Argentine tango with electronic music. The trio—composed of Eduardo Makaroff from Argentina, Christoph H. Müller from Switzerland, and Philippe Cohen Solal from France—helped popularize the genre known as "electrotango," blending bandoneón-driven melodies with downtempo beats, samples, and modern production techniques.

Their debut album, La Revancha del Tango (2001), became a global success and introduced a new generation of listeners to the rich textures of tango in a contemporary setting. The group followed up with albums like Lunático (2006) and Tango 3.0 (2010), continually evolving their sound while staying rooted in the emotional depth of tango. Gotan Project has also built a strong reputation for their immersive live shows, often featuring live musicians and striking visuals. They've remained an influential force in world music and electronic circles alike.
