Cimbaliband is a lively folk-world music group from Hungary, known for blending traditional Central and Eastern European sounds with a fresh, modern twist. Founded in 2006 by cimbalom player Balázs Unger, the band puts the iconic Hungarian hammered dulcimer — the cimbalom — at the heart of their music, and they mix it with energetic rhythms, Balkan beats, and even a touch of pop and jazz. Drawing inspiration from Hungarian, Romanian, Balkan, and Gypsy traditions, Cimbaliband has built a reputation for their vibrant live shows and inventive arrangements.
Over the years, they've released a string of popular albums like Góré, Moldva (A Balkán Kapuja), and Szívtánc, and collaborated with artists like Horváth Alexandra in projects like Gipsy Fushion. With their playful yet respectful approach to folk heritage, Cimbaliband continues to win fans both in Hungary and abroad, delivering music that's full of color, spirit, and irresistible grooves.
