Tom Rowlands

Tom Rowlands, born January 11, 1971, in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, England, is the guitar-wielding half of the groundbreaking electronic duo The Chemical Brothers, which he co-founded with Ed Simons in Manchester back in 1992. Growing up with a dad who was a director of photography, Tom got into music early—snagging a guitar at 12, a drum machine at 14, and forming his first band, Ariel, by 17, before diving headfirst into Manchester's rave scene at university, where he and Ed bonded over clubs, hip-hop, and nights at spots like the Hacienda.

Beyond the Chemical Brothers' massive hits and big beat legacy, Tom's kept busy with solo ventures, scoring films like *Hanna* and *Trespass Against Us*, soundtracks such as *Mussolini - Son of the Century*, and releases like his 2013 single "Through Me" plus recent collabs including "RING THE ALARM" with Aurora as TOMORA and "We Are Nothing / All Night." The guy's a electronic pioneer who's always pushing boundaries, from remixing Klaxons and New Order to dropping fresh tracks that keep the energy alive.
