Kix

Kix is an American hard rock band hailing from the glam and hair metal wave of the early to mid-1980s. The group originally formed in Hagerstown, Maryland, in 1977, initially under the name 'The Shooze' and later changed to 'Generators' before finally settling on 'Kix.' Their self-titled debut album was released in 1981, and although it didn't gain much commercial success, it set the course for their future endeavors. It wasn’t until the release of their fourth album, "Midnite Dynamite," in 1985, and "Blow My Fuse" in 1988, that Kix finally achieved widespread attention. The latter includes their most recognized hit, "Don't Close Your Eyes," which dealt with the topic of suicide and became the band's first single to crack the Top 40 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.

Kix became known for their high-energy live performances and anthemic rock tunes. They continued to release albums into the early '90s, with "Hot Wire" in 1991 and "Show Business" in 1995, but as the grunge movement grew, their brand of glam metal fell out of mainstream favor. Despite going on hiatus in the mid-90s, the band experienced resurgence in popularity and officially reunited in the early-2000s. They've continued to tour and record new music, including the album "Rock Your Face Off" in 2014, demonstrating their enduring appeal and commitment to their sound. In recent years, Kix has revisited their classic work with releases such as "Midnite Dynamite Re-Lit" and "Blow My Fuse - Fuse 30 Reblown 30th Anniversary Edition," catering to both new listeners and long-time fans longing for the quintessential Kix experience.
