Belgian Radio and Television Philharmonic Orchestra

The Belgian Radio and Television Philharmonic Orchestra, also known as the Brussels Philharmonic, has a rich history dating back to 1935. Originally established under the public broadcasting network, it became independent in 1998 as the Vlaams Radio Orkest (Flemish Radio Orchestra). In 2008, it adopted the name "Brussels Philharmonic – the orchestra of Flanders," highlighting its connections to Brussels and public broadcasting.

This versatile orchestra performs a wide range of music, from romantic to contemporary, including film scores and crossover pieces. They've made their mark internationally, with regular performances in Paris and the Netherlands. The orchestra has also collaborated with Glossa Music to record 20th-century repertoire, including works by Stravinsky and Elgar. With a commitment to both classical and modern compositions, the Belgian Radio and Television Philharmonic Orchestra continues to be a significant presence in the European classical music scene.
