Shapes and Sizes is a Canadian indie rock band from Victoria, British Columbia. The band consists of Caila Thompson-Hannant, Rory Seydel, Jon Crellin, and Nathan Gage. They first gained attention with their self-titled debut album in 2006, which was reissued by Asthmatic Kitty Records, making them the only Canadian band on the label's roster. Their music often features quirky instrumentation and eclectic styles, as seen in their subsequent albums *Split Lips, Winning Hips, A Shiner* (2007) and *Candle to Your Eyes* (2010). The band has toured extensively across North America and has been part of notable festivals like Pop Montreal.
Over time, Shapes and Sizes have evolved, moving from Victoria to Montreal, where they continued to develop their unique sound. Their music often blends noise with pop elements, drawing comparisons to bands like Deerhoof and Frog Eyes. With a dynamic sound that includes two lead vocalists with distinct voices, Shapes and Sizes have carved out a niche in the indie rock scene with their energetic and inventive approach to music.
