**Avichi** is the brainchild of Chicago-based musician Andrew Markuszewski (also known as Aamonael), a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist deeply rooted in black metal’s experimental edges. Active since the mid-2000s, Avichi merges raw aggression with haunting atmospherics, weaving themes of spiritual chaos, existential dread, and cosmic duality into albums like *The Devil’s Fractal* (2011) and *Catharsis Absolute* (2013). Markuszewski, who also plays in bands like Lord Mantis, crafts Avichi’s sound as a solitary endeavor—layering dissonant riffs, eerie melodies, and apocalyptic vocals into a signature blend of grandeur and darkness.
