Juan J. Colomer

Juan J. Colomer is an award-winning Spanish composer born in 1966 in Alzira, Valencia, Spain. A versatile and prolific figure in contemporary classical music, Colomer has collaborated with renowned artists such as Plácido Domingo, James Levine, José Carreras, and Christian Lindberg. His music has been performed by major international orchestras including the San Francisco Symphony, Vienna Symphony, and Los Angeles Philharmonic Brass, and showcased in prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Notably, the CD *Spanish Passion* featuring orchestrations by Colomer won a Latin Grammy for Best Classical Album in 2008.

Colomer’s work spans operas, ballets, and orchestral pieces, with highlights including the ballet *Sorolla*, commissioned by the National Ballet of Spain, and his second opera *El Pintor* (The Painter), centered on Picasso, which premiered at Teatro Real in Madrid as part of the theater's 200-year anniversary celebrations. Beyond composing, he founded and leads "Valencia Cultural Point," a non-profit aimed at promoting cultural activities in Valencia.
