Björg Brjánsdóttir

Björg Brjánsdóttir is a talented Icelandic flautist known for her versatile performances across various musical genres. She graduated from the Norwegian Academy of Music in 2017 and furthered her studies at music universities in Hanover, Munich, and Copenhagen. Björg has performed as a soloist with several orchestras, including the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Elja chamber orchestra, which she co-founded. She is also a member of the modern music ensemble Caput and regularly performs with orchestras in Germany, Norway, and Iceland. Notably, she is part of the flute septet Viibra, which has collaborated with Björk since 2016. Her album *GROWL POWER*, featuring works by Bára Gísladóttir, was released in January 2024, showcasing her collaboration with contemporary composers.

Björg's musical career highlights her dedication to both classical and contemporary music. She was nominated as Performer of the Year at the Icelandic Music Awards in 2022, reflecting her impact on the Icelandic music scene. Her involvement in diverse musical projects demonstrates her ability to adapt and contribute to a wide range of musical styles and collaborations.
