Joachim Govin

Joachim Govin is a French jazz musician, born on April 27, 1984, in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. He is both a skilled double bassist and composer. His journey into music began with the electric bass before transitioning to the double bass, influenced by a masterclass with guitarist Éric Löhrer. Govin studied at the American School of Modern Music from 2005 to 2008 and later at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris, focusing on jazz and improvisational music. He has worked with notable musicians such as Thomas Enhco and Laurent Cugny, and his own quartet features Ben van Gelder, Tony Tixier, and Gautier Garrigue.
