Roberto Marini is an internationally acclaimed Italian organist, widely recognized as one of the leading players of his generation—critics have even called him “one of the greatest organists of the present era”. A charismatic and technically formidable musician, Marini is especially celebrated for his interpretations of Max Reger and J.S. Bach, having performed their complete works for organ in prestigious concert cycles. He began his studies in Rome with the renowned Fernando Germani, graduating with top marks in Organ and Organ Composition, and later won the prestigious ‘Premier prix de virtuosité d’orgue’ at the Geneva Conservatory under Lionel Rogg.
In addition to his active concert career across Europe, Marini is a dedicated educator, serving as Professor of Organ at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Rome and at the Conservatory of Music in Pescara, where he was also vice-director for many years. He’s the artistic director of several major organ festivals in Italy and Spain, and is the titular organist at Teramo Cathedral. Beyond music, Marini also holds a degree in law, reflecting his diverse intellectual interests. His recordings—such as the monumental 17-CD set of Reger’s complete organ music—showcase both his virtuosity and his deep musicality, making him a standout figure in the world of organ performance.
