**Melanie Crew and Ross Palmer** are a South London-based duo who are life partners and musical collaborators, blending their songwriting talents into beautifully quiet folk and Americana sounds. It all started when Melanie got hooked on songwriting and started performing her tunes live, with Ross—a seasoned player from folk and roots bands like Great Days of Sail—jumping in on guitar and harmonies, turning their personal vibe into a creative powerhouse.

They kicked things off with an EP called *Away from the City*, followed by their debut album *Quiet After Midnight* in 2023, which they wrote, recorded, and mixed right at home. Their latest, *Some Other Stories* (out December 5, 2025, via Gare du Nord Records), features 11 original tracks plus a traditional ballad like *Our Captain Cried All Hands*, drawing from influences such as Fairport Convention and Elliott Smith, all wrapped in gorgeous melodies, fingerpicked guitars, and subtle guest spots from players like Basia Bartz on violin.
