PIPER

Piper is a city pop band formed in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture in 1981. Led by guitarist/vocalist Keisuke Yamamoto, the band moved to Tokyo and released their first single on Yupiteru Records. Piper's music is influenced by British bands like Wishbone Ash and Camel, but they blend styles of funk, soul, and fusion to create classic American sounds. They are known for using unusual recording techniques and new technologies, such as Linn drums, to evoke seasonal vibes in their music. Some of their notable releases include "I'm Not in Love," "Summer Breeze," "Gentle Breeze," and "Sunshine Kiz." The band reunited in 2018 and has performed at various venues in Tokyo, including Blues Alley and Rock Joint GB. Their albums have been reissued by Light in the Attic Records.

Recent releases like "Cool Selection," "Hot Sand," and the remastered "LOVERS LOGIC" (2019) continue to showcase Piper's unique blend of styles, maintaining their distinctive sound that has captivated fans over the years.
