Corduroy

Corduroy are a British four-piece that defined their sound in the 1990s as part of the acid jazz movement, despite not originally being a part of any specific scene. The band features the talents of twins Ben Addison on drums and vocals, and Scott Addison on keyboards and vocals, along with Richard Searle on bass and Simon Nelson-Smith on guitar. They came together in 1991, after the Addison brothers' previous band, Boys Wonder, broke up.

Dubbing themselves 'The Fabric Four', Corduroy established a unique blend of jazz, funk, and pop with a clear nod to the '60s mod aesthetic, both in their music and in their sharp sartorial choices. Throughout the '90s, they carved out a niche with energetic live shows and albums like "Dad Man Cat," "High Havoc," and "Out Of Here." After a hiatus in the early 2000s, the band resurfaced with renewed vigor evidenced by the release of "Return of the Fabric Four" in 2018 and a series of singles that continued to showcase their groovy, organ-driven sound with an unmistakable modern twist. Corduroy's persistent cult following and their role in the acid jazz scene makes them a beloved act, known for their combination of upbeat energy, sophisticated arrangements, and stylish flair.
