Tomoki Kitamura is a renowned Japanese pianist born in Aichi, Japan, in 1991. He began playing the piano at the age of three and quickly demonstrated exceptional talent. At just 14, Kitamura won the first prize and the Grand Jury Prize at the prestigious Tokyo Music Competition, marking the beginning of his professional career. He has since achieved notable success in international competitions, including the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition, where he won third prize, and the Telekom-Beethoven competition in Bonn, where he secured second place in 2017.

Kitamura's musical journey has taken him to esteemed concert halls in Europe and Japan, where he performs as a recital pianist, soloist with orchestras, and chamber music player. He also explores historical interpretation and instruments, particularly as a fortepianist. His educational background includes studying with distinguished professors such as Kei Itoh, Ewa Pobłocka, and Rainer Becker, and he holds a diploma from the Universität der Künste Berlin. Kitamura continues to refine his craft with a focus on historical performance practices. His recent releases reflect a diverse repertoire, showcasing his versatility as a pianist.
