the HIATUS

the HIATUS is a Japanese rock band formed in 2009 by vocalist and guitarist Takeshi Hosomi after the disbandment of his previous band, ELLEGARDEN. Known for blending alternative rock with elements of post-rock and progressive styles, the HIATUS features a rotating lineup of accomplished musicians from Japan’s rock scene. The group quickly gained attention for their debut album, Trash We'd Love, which showcased a more introspective, experimental sound compared to Hosomi’s earlier work.

Over the years, the HIATUS has built a dedicated following both in Japan and internationally, thanks to their emotionally rich songwriting and dynamic live performances. Their releases, such as A World Of Pandemonium, ANOMALY, and Hands Of Gravity, reflect a commitment to sonic evolution, incorporating English and Japanese lyrics. the HIATUS is celebrated for pushing rock boundaries while staying true to Hosomi’s expressive vision.
