The Chasm

The Chasm is a Mexican death metal institution forged in 1992 by guitarist/vocalist Daniel Corchado (ex-Incantation) and drummer Antonio León. Blending raw aggression with eerie melodic twists, these underground legends craft labyrinthine songs that flirt with doom, thrash, and progressive metal while maintaining a fiercely DIY ethos. After relocating to Chicago in the late '90s, they unleashed cult classics like *Procession to the Infraworld* and *Deathcult for Eternity: The Triumph* – albums that cemented their reputation for occult-themed lyrics and spine-chilling atmospherics. Despite lineup shifts over three decades, Corchado remains the driving force behind their cryptic, otherworldly sound, self-releasing recent works like *The Scars of a Lost Reflective Shadow* through their own Luxinframundis Productions. Revered by diehards for rejecting trends and maintaining sinister mystique, The Chasm continues to haunt the metal underground with their unapologetically dense, ritualistic approach.
