The Riflebirds of Portland

The Riflebirds of Portland are a band that originally played from 1985 to 1989 in Portland, earning a dedicated local following and critical praise. After releasing their debut album *April* in 1989, the band disbanded, with members moving on to different careers—chief songwriter and bassist Lee Oser became a professor and author, singer Kate Oser a children's librarian, and lead guitarist Kevin Kraft a software tester. Drummer Kevin Jarvis continued in music, working with major artists and running a recording studio.

Remarkably, The Riflebirds reunited after 36 years to release their long-awaited second album, *Windmills On The Moon* (2025). Their sound is rooted in folk with elements of a subtle 60s vibe, showcasing Kate Oser's lead vocals and a more daring, original musical approach. Recent releases include singles like *You Win*, *It Doesn't Matter Much to Me*, and *Sometime Somewhere*, marking a revival of their unique style after decades apart.
