Kodigo Norte

Kodigo Norte is a rap group that emerged from Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, back in 2004. The group consists of DJ Loro and MCs Markés, Sok, and Gorka Suaia, all of whom came from previous local music projects. They made their live debut in September 2004, and soon after, Markés gained some solo recognition with his 2005 release "Un Paseo por Mi Mente," which was noted in Hip Hop Nation magazine. Their self-titled debut album dropped in 2006 and earned them a demo competition win in Álava, helping them expand their fan base beyond the Basque Country. They followed up with the *Iceberg* EP in 2007 and continued to release music and perform live, with notable tracks like "One Love One Shot" gaining a strong online following. Their latest known album, *Sutan Blai*, was released in late 2011, showcasing their consistent presence in the Basque hip-hop scene.

Kodigo Norte blends classic rap with regional influences, maintaining a solid underground reputation in Euskal Herria and beyond. Members like Gorka Suaia have also pursued solo projects and collaborations, contributing to the rich tapestry of Basque hip hop culture. Their music reflects a passion for lyrical storytelling rooted in their local identity while embracing broader hip-hop traditions. If you're exploring Basque rap, Kodigo Norte is a key name to know, thanks to their decade-plus contribution to the scene and releases such as "Niña Hermosa," "Una Vida Entera," and "En el Play".
