Decyfer Down

Decyfer Down is a Christian rock band that emerged from the local music scene in North Carolina, originally forming under the name Allysonhymn in the late 1990s. After some lineup changes and a shift in musical direction, they rebranded as Decyfer Down before releasing their first full-length album "End of Grey" in 2006 under INO Records. This debut set them on a path blending grunge and hard rock elements with a distinctly Christian message, gaining them a considerable following among rock fans seeking spiritually-oriented music.

Over the years, Decyfer Down has maintained a strong presence in the Christian rock sphere, with multiple releases showcasing their evolving sound. Their sophomore album "Crash" (2009) solidified their status with its successful title track. They continued their upward trajectory with "Scarecrow" in 2013, which featured more introspective lyrics and a slight shift towards a more melodic rock sound. In 2016, they delved into darker emotional territories with "The Other Side of Darkness," often cited as an album that helped fans connect through common struggles and faith. Despite the time spent between releases, the band returned with a sense of renewal in "Nothing More," a standalone single in 2019, proving their ability to adapt and resonate with fans. The following year's "Acoustic - EP" demonstrated the band's versatility and raw musicianship, stripping down their potent rock sound to its acoustic essence. Their latest effort is "Cycles," a 2021 album that continues to reflect Decyfer Down's dedication to making music that inspires and challenges their listeners, while contemplating the highs and lows of spiritual and personal journeys.
