Skank

Skank is an influential Brazilian rock band, known for blending an eclectic mix of genres including rock, reggae, ska, and Brazilian music. Founded in the early 1990s in Belo Horizonte, the band consists of Samuel Rosa (guitar and vocals), Henrique Portugal (keyboards), Lelo Zaneti (bass), and Haroldo Ferretti (drums). They found recognition in Brazil with their debut self-titled album, "Skank" (1993), which included hits that introduced their unique sound to the public.

Over the years, Skank has built a reputable career with a solid fanbase, not just in Brazil but internationally. They are known for their engaging live performances and a string of successful albums, such as "Samba Poconé" (1996) and "Calango" (1994), which have been commemorated in the live EP series "Os Três Primeiros - EP," recorded at Circo Voador. Their music often features socially conscious lyrics and catchy melodies, as showcased in tracks like "Simplesmente" and "Algo Parecido." Skank's longevity and their ability to reinvent themselves are marked by recent remixes of their classic hits, such as the Dubdogz, RQntz & Lowsince remix of "Ainda Gosto Dela," ensuring that their music continues to resonate with new generations of listeners.
