Cytotoxin

Cytotoxin is a brutal technical death metal band hailing from Germany, which took the metal scene by storm with their gripping, radioactive-themed onslaught of sound. Formed in 2010, the band quickly rooted its identity in the concept of Chernobyl, the site of one of history's worst nuclear disasters. This horrific event not only inspired their name, which refers to substances that are toxic to living cells, but also serves as a thematic backbone for their music, lyrics, and grim visual aesthetics.

The band's discography is a relentless exploration of both the destructive force of nuclear power and the grim realities of its misuse, depicted through the group's skilled musicianship and complex compositions. Their journey began with the EP "Plutonium Heaven" in 2011 and was soon followed by their debut full-length album "Radiophobia" in 2012. Each subsequent release, including "Gammageddon" (2017) and their most recent detonation, "Nuklearth" (2020), has seen the band refine their sound and continue to develop their vision. Cytotoxin has forged a reputation within the metal community for their blistering tempos, heavy riffs, and relentless intensity, combined with technical proficiency and a focus on real-world events that challenge listeners not just musically, but intellectually and emotionally as well.
