A Perfect Circle

A Perfect Circle is an American rock supergroup formed in 1999 by guitarist Billy Howerdel and Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan. The band's inception occurred after Keenan, impressed by Howerdel's music, suggested they form a band together using Howerdel's compositions. A Perfect Circle's music is characterized by an amalgamation of alternative rock, progressive rock, and art rock, with elements of ambient music and hard rock, leading them to gain a unique standing within the rock music panorama.

The band's debut album, "Mer de Noms," was released in 2000 to critical acclaim, followed by their second album, "Thirteenth Step" in 2003. A distinctive feature of the band's creative cycle is lengthy pauses, often tied to Keenan's commitment to his other projects, including Tool and Puscifer. A Perfect Circle's catalog has evolved over the years, showcasing their diversity with albums like "eMOTIVe" (2004), a collection of anti-war cover songs and original material, and their long-awaited 2018 album "Eat The Elephant," which marked a significant stylistic shift—a more introspective, and at times, a more electronic-tinged sound. Despite their sporadic release schedule and lineup changes, A Perfect Circle has maintained a fiercely dedicated fan base, drawn to their complex music and the enigmatic allure of their performances, including memorable live experiences captured in releases like "Stone and Echo: Live at Red Rocks" and "Mer De Noms - Live."
