Indra Lesmana

Indra Lesmana is a renowned Indonesian jazz pianist, composer, and producer who has been a leading figure in Southeast Asia’s jazz scene since the 1980s. Born into a musical family—his father was the celebrated Indonesian jazz musician Jack Lesmana—Indra started playing piano at a young age and studied at the New South Wales Conservatorium of Music in Sydney. He’s known for blending traditional jazz with elements of fusion, funk, and Indonesian music, creating a distinctive sound that’s both technically intricate and deeply expressive.

Over the decades, Indra has released numerous solo albums and collaborated with a wide range of artists, both locally and internationally. His projects, such as “Fairlight,” “In The Moment,” and “Swara Apurva,” showcase not only his virtuosity on the keys but also his talent as a producer and arranger. Beyond performance, he's contributed significantly to Indonesia's music industry through teaching, mentoring young musicians, and helping to modernize jazz in the region.
