Dashboard Confessional

Dashboard Confessional is an American rock band led by singer-songwriter Chris Carrabba, whose introspective lyrics and acoustic-led melodies have resonated with audiences since the band's inception in 1999. Dashboard Confessional started as a side project while Carrabba was in the band Further Seems Forever, but it quickly took center stage as his solo work under the Dashboard moniker found a dedicated fanbase. The band's name is derived from a lyric in the song "The Sharp Hint of New Tears" from their debut album, "The Swiss Army Romance."

The band gained prominence in the early 2000s with their breakthrough album, "The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most," which featured hits like "Screaming Infidelities" and "Saints and Sailors" that became anthems for the emo and acoustic rock scene. Over the years, Dashboard Confessional has evolved, including full band arrangements and experimenting with different sounds, but they have always remained true to the heartfelt storytelling that first captured listeners' emotions. Key albums like "A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar" and "Dusk and Summer" solidified their status in the alternative genre. After a hiatus, the band returned with the 2018 album "Crooked Shadows," followed by the greatest hits compilation "The Best Ones of the Best Ones" in 2020, showcasing the enduring appeal of Dashboard Confessional’s deeply personal and evocative music. The release of "All The Truth That I Can Tell" in 2022 continues their legacy of candid songwriting and emotive performances that have both defined and transcended the emo genre for more than two decades.
