The Geraldine Fibbers

The Geraldine Fibbers were an alt-country band formed in 1994 by Carla Bozulich in Los Angeles. The group fused American roots music and blues-influenced punk with experimental noise elements. Their initial lineup included Bozulich, Daniel Keenan, Julie Fowells, William Tutton and Kevin Fitzgerald.

The band released two major label albums on Virgin Records - "Lost Somewhere Between the Earth and My Home" in 1995 and "Butch" in 1997. Guitarist Nels Cline joined in 1996, replacing Keenan and pushing the band's sound in an even noisier direction. Despite critical acclaim, the Geraldine Fibbers struggled commercially and broke up after being dropped by Virgin following the release of "Butch".
