The Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra (TNSO) is renowned for its sophisticated performances and dynamic programs, achieving worldwide acclaim under the leadership of various conductors. Founded on the initiative of Nazib Zhiganov, former Chairman of the Composers Union of Tatarstan and Dean of the Kazan Conservatory, the orchestra has been guided by notable conductors such as Natan Rakhlin and Fuat Mansurov. Since 2010, Alexander Sladkovsky has been the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor, leading the orchestra into a new era of international recognition. Under Sladkovsky's direction, the TNSO has participated in numerous international music festivals and tours, including performances in Japan, Europe, and China.
The orchestra is also involved in several educational and community projects, such as "Property of the Republic" and "Music lessons with an orchestra," which aim to nurture young musical talents and bring music to a wider audience. The TNSO has been featured on prominent music channels like Medici.tv and Mezzo, further expanding its global reach. Their repertoire includes a wide range of classical works, as evidenced by their recent releases, such as the complete symphonies and concertos of Shostakovich.
