James Pants

James Pants is an eclectic American musician, DJ, and record producer hailing from Spokane, Washington. His sound defies easy categorization, weaving together elements of electro-funk, hip-hop, synth-pop, and a dash of the psychedelic sounds of the 1980s. Pants is known for his retro-futuristic vibe and quirky approach to music, often integrating lo-fi production techniques with a plethora of unique, off-kilter samples.

After being discovered by Peanut Butter Wolf, the founder of the Stones Throw Records, James Pants released his debut album, "Welcome," in 2008, which promptly put him on the map as a creative and unconventional artist. His subsequent releases, such as "Seven Seals" (2009), which drew inspiration from themes of apocalyptic prophesy, and his self-titled album "James Pants" (2011), continued to showcase his prowess for genre-blending and sound experimentation. Pants maintains a low profile while still being regarded as a connoisseur’s delight, praised for both the depth and the playful creativity that he brings to the indie and electronic music scenes. His other remarkable releases include "Rhythm Trax Vol. 1," "New Tropical," and his later works "Krista," "Savage," and the cheekily named "All the Hits," further solidifying his reputation as a versatile and enigmatic figure in the world of alternative music.
