Nii Okai, born Ernest Nii-Okai Okai on September 19, 1977, in Tema, Ghana, is a contemporary gospel singer and choir leader. He is known for his contributions to the gospel music scene in Ghana and is the leader of the Harbour City Mass Choir, an inter-denominational music ministry based in Tema.
Nii Okai completed his secondary education at Mfantsipim School in Cape Coast and furthered his studies at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where he earned an MA in Mission and Theology. He founded Nii Okai Ministries, a team focused on music outreach and community impact.
His music career began to gain traction with the release of his debut album "Moko Be" in 2004, which included popular tracks like "Woana Na." Over the years, he has released several albums, including "Worshipful," "Hymnz Unlimited," "Holy Writings," and "Saving Hearts," the latter of which won the Music for Development Award at the 16th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
In addition to his music career, Nii Okai is a professional banker and serves as the lead pastor at the International House of Virtue in Tema. He is married to Yaa Okai, and they have three children. Nii Okai is recognized for his commitment to contemporary gospel music and has collaborated with various artists in the genre.
