Premi Johal, also known as "King Premi Johal," is a prominent figure in the UK bhangra music scene. He founded the Premi Group, named after himself, while working a day job at Nestle. Johal's passion for writing lyrics and songs was inspired by the rhythmic sounds of factory machines.
Premi's debut album, recorded and mixed in just three days by Kuljit Bhamra, gained significant popularity when it was played on loop by a pirate radio station. The group has since enjoyed enduring success, with many of their hit songs remaining well-known and frequently played even thirty years after their release.
