Julia Sophie Wagner

Julia Sophie Wagner is a highly respected German soprano known for her specialization in the vocal works of Johann Sebastian Bach and her versatility across classical repertoire, including major oratorios and opera roles. After making her debut in 2002 with Carl Orff’s *Carmina Burana* in Munich's Herkulessaal, she quickly established herself as a sought-after concert singer. Julia has performed with prestigious orchestras such as the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin, and the Washington National Symphony Orchestra, and has toured extensively across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Her debut performance of Beethoven's *Missa Solemnis* at the Kennedy Center under Julian Wachner was voted the #1 Kennedy Center event of 2014 by *Washington Life Magazine*.

Educated at the Hochschule für Musik "Franz Liszt" in Weimar, McGill University in Montreal, and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig, Julia is also active in contemporary music and chamber music projects alongside her baroque repertoire. She enjoys fruitful collaborations with renowned conductors like Helmuth Rilling and musicians such as Eric Schneider and Steffen Schleiermacher. Beyond the concert stage, Julia is passionate about music education for children and innovative projects like her children's musical theater *Prinzessin Elise*, which combines art songs with storytelling. She is known for her clear, expressive voice and thoughtful interpretations, bridging classical tradition with modern artistic exploration.
