Grace Rogers

Grace Rogers is a multifaceted artist from Owingsville, Kentucky, known for her work as a musician, poet, and essayist. She grew up immersed in the rich traditions of old-time music in eastern Kentucky, a culture she continues to honor through her songwriting and performances. Rogers moved to Louisville in 2017 to study English at the University of Louisville. Her music often explores themes of rural identity, social justice, and environmental issues. For example, her 2023 EP **COWPOCALYPSE**, released in collaboration with Tyler Termini, delves into the effects of industrial agriculture and environmental destruction. Additionally, Rogers performs as part of an old-time and singer-songwriter duo with fiddler Blakeley Burger.

Rogers has further developed her musical skills through apprenticeships, including studying east Kentucky banjo styles with John Haywood. She has been recognized for her innovative approach to traditional music, being named a 2023 Firestarter winner for her songwriting and poetry.
