Glenn Yarbrough

Glenn Yarbrough was a talented American folk singer and guitarist born on January 12, 1930, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He's best known as the lead tenor of the popular folk group The Limeliters from 1959 to 1963, but he also had a successful solo career. Yarbrough's clear, high tenor voice was instantly recognizable and set him apart in the folk music scene.

After leaving The Limeliters, Yarbrough scored a big hit with "Baby the Rain Must Fall" in 1965, which reached number 12 on the pop charts. He continued to record and perform throughout the 1960s and 1970s, releasing numerous albums that showcased his distinctive voice and interpretations of folk and pop songs. Yarbrough was known for his restlessness and often took breaks from the music industry to pursue other interests, particularly sailing. He passed away on August 11, 2016, at the age of 86.
