Revocation

Revocation is an American extreme metal band hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, known for their technical and genre-blending approach to metal music. Founded in 2006 by vocalist and guitarist David Davidson, bassist Anthony Buda, and drummer Phil Dubois-Coyne, the band initially bore the name Cryptic Warning, but they rebranded themselves as Revocation two years later. Davidson, a Berklee College of Music alumnus, is particularly noted for his intricate guitar work and has been praised as one of the leading figures in contemporary metal guitar playing.

Throughout their career, Revocation has released multiple albums showing a proclivity for melding thrash, death metal, and progressive elements. Some of their most prominent works include "Empire of the Obscene" (2008) and "Deathless" (2014), showcasing their blend of technical precision and aggressive musicianship. Their latest offering, "Netherheaven" (2022), with its tracks like "Diabolical Majesty" and "Re-Crucified," sees the band delving deeper into a dark and unrelenting sound, solidifying their standing in the metal community. Revocation's predilection for complex arrangements and incisive lyrical themes has established them as a critical force in the evolution of modern metal.
