DSTRTD SGNL is a German electronic music production duo hailing from the Rhein/Main area near Frankfurt. The duo consists of Stephan Kessler and Torben Schmidt, who joined forces in late 2022 to launch this fresh project under the name DSTRTD SGNL, which stands for "distorted signal." Both members bring rich and diverse backgrounds to the collaboration: Stephan Kessler has been involved in several music projects such as Art Academy, L’age Synthetique, Aircrash Bureau, and Dark Noize, while Torben Schmidt has an extensive history as an A&R and product manager for numerous labels like Suck Me Plasma and Bonzai Records Germany, as well as his own productions under names like Mindscape and Noise Control. They made a strong comeback in 2023 with a prolific output, producing over 40 tracks and remixes released on various respected labels including Phuture Wax, Union Three, and Bonzai.

With a sound firmly rooted in techno and peak-time club vibes, DSTRTD SGNL brings a polished yet energetic style that reflects their seasoned expertise in electronic music production. Their releases like "This Is the End," "Face The Sun," and "Metamatic" showcase a fresh take on electronic and techno music, blending their rich musical heritage with modern production techniques. They are also associated with the City of Drums BLACK LABEL, marking a new chapter in their careers as they continue to evolve and push boundaries within the electronic music scene.
