Evren Ozel is an American pianist known for his refined restraint and thoughtful interpretations, having started piano lessons at the age of 3 in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has received numerous accolades, including the 2023 Avery Fisher Career Grant and the 2022 Salon de Virtuosi Career Grant, and has earned top prizes at several international competitions such as the Cleveland, Dublin, Cooper, and the U.S. National Chopin Competition. Ozel is also a laureate of the 2025 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, where he won the Bronze Medal.
Since his debut with the Minnesota Orchestra at age 11, Ozel has performed with major orchestras including the Cleveland Orchestra, Boston Pops, Jacksonville Symphony, and RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra. He has a diverse recital repertoire that spans from Bach and Beethoven to Ligeti and has been featured at prestigious venues and festivals like Marlboro Music Festival and Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Currently based in Boston, he is pursuing an Artist Diploma at the New England Conservatory under Wha Kyung Byun and continues to build a dynamic career as a soloist and chamber musician.
