Legal Weapon

Legal Weapon is a Southern California-based punk band that emerged with a strong lineup featuring singer Kat Arthur, guitarist Brian Hansen, bassist Patricia Morrison, drummer Charlie Vartanian, and guitarist Mike R. Livingston. Known for their early albums *Death of Innocence* and *Your Weapon*, which received positive reviews, the band's sound evolved over time, incorporating more hard rock elements. Kat Arthur's powerful voice often drew comparisons to Janis Joplin, earning her the nickname "the Janis Joplin of punk." The band released several albums, including *Interior Hearts*, *Life Sentence to Love*, and *Take Out the Trash*, before later works like *Squeeze Me Like an Anaconda* and a self-titled album in 2002.

Legal Weapon's history includes collaborations with notable musicians, such as Steve Soto and Frank Agnew of The Adolescents, who contributed to their early work. Patricia Morrison, a key member, went on to play with influential bands like The Gun Club, The Sisters of Mercy, and The Damned.
