Kenneth Leighton was an English composer, organist, and teacher. Born in Wakefield, Yorkshire, in 1929, he studied at the Royal College of Music in London and later became a professor of composition there. Leighton's music is known for its lyrical melodies, rich harmonies, and evocative use of counterpoint. He composed a wide range of works, including symphonies, concertos, choral music, and organ pieces. Leighton died in 1988 at the age of 58.
