Max Schönherr

Max Schönherr was an Austrian conductor known for his interpretations of Viennese music. He was born in Vienna in 1903 and studied at the Vienna Conservatory. Schönherr made his conducting debut in 1926 and quickly established himself as one of the leading conductors of his generation. He conducted the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. Schönherr was also a prolific recording artist, and his recordings of Viennese music are still highly regarded today. He died in Vienna in 1984.
