Aurora Nealand

Aurora Nealand is a dynamic multi-instrumentalist, composer, and bandleader based in New Orleans, best known for her work in traditional New Orleans jazz and experimental music scenes. She’s the leader of The Royal Roses, a contemporary ensemble that creatively reinterprets early jazz music, drawing inspiration from artists like Sidney Bechet and Django Reinhardt while incorporating modern improvisational approaches. Nealand is an accomplished clarinetist and saxophonist, and her performances channel the spirit and raw energy of vintage New Orleans sounds with a refreshingly personal twist.

Beyond traditional jazz, Nealand is also involved in avant-garde and performance art projects, most notably with her alter ego band Rory Danger & The Danger Dangers, a theatrical rock group known for genre-blending and inventive stage shows.
