The Joy Formidable

The Joy Formidable is a Welsh alternative rock band that has made a significant mark on the indie music scene with their dynamic sound, which ranges from ethereal shoegaze to robust rock anthems. Formed in 2007 in North Wales, the group consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Ritzy Bryan, bassist Rhydian Dafydd, and drummer Matt Thomas. They burst onto the scene with their debut album "The Big Roar" in 2011, followed by the critically acclaimed "Wolf's Law" in 2013 and several more innovative projects.

With a string of notable releases under their belt, The Joy Formidable is renowned for their energetic live performances and expansive songwriting. Noteworthy albums include "Hitch" in 2016, displaying a rawer, more personal side of the band, and "AAARTH" in 2018, which was celebrated for its richly textured soundscapes. Following "AAARTH," they continued to captivate fans with the lush compositions of "Into the Blue" in 2021 and its subsequent deluxe version. The band has also engaged listeners with various EPs and singles like "Sleep Is Day," "The Better Me," "The Wrong Side," and the intimate "Silent Treatment EP," showcasing their adaptability and consistent evolution as artists.
