Klarup Pigekor

The Klarup Pigekor Choir, founded in 1980, is a part of the Aalborg School of Culture in Denmark. Originally evolving from the Klarup School Choir established in 1970, the choir has developed into a notable ensemble of 30 singers aged between 16 and 28. They are renowned for their extensive repertoire, which spans both secular and church music, incorporating a variety of styles from classical to folk and pop. The choir is highly sought after, having collaborated with prominent orchestras like the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and performed in numerous concerts annually, mainly in northern Denmark. They represent Aalborg and Denmark in international festivals and tours every couple of years, such as their tour to Portugal in 2016.

Their discography includes diverse releases like "Luk julefreden ind," "O Come, Let Us Sing - New Nordic Church Music," and "18 Danish Songs - Den Blå Anemone - Årets Sange I Arrangement Af John Høybye." These albums showcase their versatility and commitment to various musical genres while maintaining a pure Nordic choir sound. Klarup Pigekor's performances prioritize authenticity and aesthetic quality, making them a beloved and respected ensemble in the Danish musical landscape.
